BMW Ran Red Light In Crash That Hospitalized EMTs In Elizabeth: Authorities A BMW that ran a red light struck an ambulance, sending two EMTs and a passenger in the vehicle to the hospital over the weekend in Elizabeth, authorities and sources said. The ambulance had a green light to cross Spring Street at Fairmount Avenue when it was struck by the BMS that ran the red light around 3:10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, city spokesperson Ruby Contreras said. The BMW driver was issued a summons.

Duo Nabbed In Newark Penn Station Assault-Robbery: Police A couple from Newark was arrested in connection with an assault-robbery earlier this week, authorities said. The victim had made a purchase using a large bill at Penn Station before Khashif Williams, 34, approached him on Union Street, punched him twice and then took his wallet around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, Newark Public Safety Director Fitz Fragé said. Cardinal Tobin Imposter Busted On Instagram: Report If you interacted with Cardinal Joseph Tobin on Instagram, no you didn't. Tobin only has one social media account, and it's Twitter, the Archdiocese of Newark said. An imposter of his was recently busted on Instagram, NJ Advance Media reports. Teen Boy Found Dead Near Union County Train Tracks A 17-year-old boy was found dead near railroad tracks in Union County Thursday, Aug. 4, authorities said. The unidentified male was found near West Second Street and Central Avenue around 8:30 p.m. in Plainfield, a spokesperson with the prosecutor's office said. It was not clear where exactly his body was found. The cause of death was under investigation.

Weehawken Opened $10.5M Pool To Public But Might Still Be Violating Green Acres Policy: Report Weehawken's beautiful $10.5 million swimming pool has been opened to out-of-towners. The Department of Environmental Protection apparently told officials that had to open the pool to non-residents as keeping it closed to residents-only was in violation of DEP rules, as the pool was Green Acres-funded, NJ Advance Media reports. 'Abduction' Of Bloodied Woman In South Brunswick Was Big Misunderstanding What police in South Brunswick initially believed was a possible abduction turned out to be a big misunderstanding, police said. Authorities launched an investigation Wednesday, Aug. 3, when witnesses said they saw a woman bleeding from her head and yelling help being pulled into the cab of a tractor trailer.
