Pedestrian Dies 2 Weeks After Being Struck By Car In Montgomery County
A 35-year-old Silver Spring man died nearly two weeks after being struck by a car in Gaithersburg, authorities announced. Vidal Jurez Godinez was in the crosswalk of Gridley Road when he was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado making a left hand turn from southbound Selfridge Road around 10 p.m. Friday, June 3, Montgomery County police said. Godinez was taken to an area hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit until he died on June 15. No charges had been filed as of Friday, June 17. Child Airlifted In Near Drowning At Maryland Public Pool
A child was airlifted to a Maryland hospital after a near drowning Friday, June 17, NBC Washington reports. The Edward Thomas Memorial Pool at Baker Park in Frederick was very busy at the time of the 5:45 p.m. incident, the outlet said. Four Inmates Escape From Federal Prison In Virginia
A search was under way for four inmates who escaped from a federal prison in Virginia Saturday, June 18, officials said. Corey Branch, Tavares Lajuane Graham, Lamonte Rashawn Willis and Kareem Allen Shaw went missing from the Federal Correctional Complex Petersburg’s satellite camp in Hopewell around 1:45 a.m., the FBI of Prisons said in a news release. A man who robbed and raped a victim in Baltimore County had been wanted out of New York City, where he choked and slashed a 19-year-old woman at a subway station in an unprovoked attack earlier this month, the New York Post reports. A man wanted in the 2021 murder of an 18-year-old man in Delaware County was captured by US Marshals agents Marlon Cooper, 19, has been wanted for months in the killing of Samad Montgomery last August in Chester. Man Shot Dead Early Saturday In Baltimore
A man was shot and killed early Saturday, June 18 in Baltimore. Police responding to the 2700 block of Maryland Avenue found the 35-year-old victim suffering a gunshot wound around 7:05 a.m., city police said. PA's Michael Horvath Found Guilty In Murder Of Holly Grim
Pennsylvania's Michael Horvath on Friday, June 17 was found guilty in the 2013 murder of his co-worker, Holly Grim. Michael Horvath, 55, was convicted on charges of homicide, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse, but was acquitted of obstructing law enforcement. A longtime Philadelphia firefighter died and five others were injured in a building collapse in the northern part of the city early Saturday, June 18, officials said.
