People Pulled From Bayonne Building As Fire Burns
Several victims were pulled from a four-alarm fire that tore through a Bayonne building Tuesday, June 7. The blaze broke out at an apartment building on Broadway and 15th around 10:30 p.m. An unknown number of residents were hospitalized after being rescued, including one from a third story window, abc7 reports. The fire remains under investigation.

Rutgers Women's Basketball Players Win Appeal In Discrimination Case
Four former Rutgers-Newark basketball players will have another shot at what they say is justice. A New Jersey appeals court reinstated claims of race, gender and sexual orientation discrimination brought by Jasmine Daniels, Jade Howard, Sarah Schwartz and Arianna Williams as part of an existing lawsuit, NJ Advance Media reports. A Texas woman accused of killing a cyclist involved with her bicycling boyfriend may have hopped a flight from Newark Airport days after the slaying last month, authorities said. Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, of Austin, went to New York City after killing 25-year-old Anna Moriah Wilson, of Vermont, the US Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force said. : Arrest Made In Hoboken Shooting
A 19-year-old gunman was arrested in the Monday, June 6 shooting that left a 17-year-old boy hurt in Hoboken, city police said. Halim A. Gilyard is believed to have been one of the shooters from the incident at 4th and Jackson Street, Detective Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. He was arrested Friday, June 10 by officers executing a search warrant at an apartment building on 4th and Adams Street, Cabrera said. A 32-year-old man wanted in the murder of a Bayonne man was arrested on an unrelated theft charge in Miami, authorities announced Monday, June 6. Elvis Santana, 32, had been on the run since the stabbing death of 29-year-old Mathew Mortimer in March 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Abducted Toddler Found Safe
An Amber Alert has for a toddler abducted out of York County was called off after the girl was found safe Sunday, June 5, authorities said. Mya Campbell was abducted by Maria McKenzie, 27, out of Springettsbury Township, police said. She was last seen at 3:23 p.m. on Concord Road. Mya was last seen wearing a pink, green and yellow polka dot dress. McKenzie is in a brown jacket and is believed to be driving a silver 2005 Suzuki XL7, license plate LXG5500. Hopatcong Woman, 28, Killed By Car In Bridgewater
A 28-year-old Hopatcong woman was struck and killed by a car in Bridgewater overnight, authorities said. Kelsey Benson was walking on State Highway 28 when she was struck by a Lexus driven by a 59-year-old Bridgewater man around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, June 5, local police said. Members of Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Paramedic unit responded to the scene to render aid to Benson, but she ultimately died of her injuries at the scene.
