Pilot, Flight Instructor Unscathed In Jersey Shore Plane Crash: Report Two people walked away unscathed after his plane crashed on the Jersey Shore Sunday, May 1, as first reported by the Lakewood Scoop. The single-engine Cessna 172 crashed at Ocean County Airport in Bayville around 6 p.m., the FAA said in a release. The aircraft had departed from Old Bridge Airport in Englishtown. The occupants were a pilot and flight instructor, the Asbury Park Press reports. Maryland Bound Plane Makes Emergency Landing In New Jersey A Maryland-bound plane made an emergency landing in New Jersey after the cockpit became filled with smoke, officials said. The single-engine Piper PA-32 departed from Norwood Regional Airport in Norwood, Mass., and was headed toward Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, the FAA said. The plane landed safely around 11 a.m. in Teterboro after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit, authorities said.  The FAA is conducting the investigation.
