Montrose Resident Severely Injured In Route 9 Crash GARRISON, N.Y. -- Peter Bongers, a 26-year-old Montrose resident, suffered a partial amputation of his leg after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 9 in Garrison in Tuesday afternoon, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Bongers was riding a motorcycle northbound on Route 9 at 5:30 p.m. when his motorcycle crossed over the center line of the road into the southbound lane, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Motorcyclist Severs Leg In Route 9 Accident GARRISON, N.Y. -- An accident involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer on Route 9 late Tuesday afternoon severed a motorcyclists' leg, according to Philipstown.info. The motorcylist was taken by ambulance to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company Station before being taken to a nearby hospital, according to Philipstown.info. Continental Village Fire Department and Putnam Fire Police also responded to the accident. Route 9 was closed for several hours while the Putnam County Sherriff's Department investigated the crash that occurred just before 6 p.m.

Putnam Resident Publishes Book About Daughter's Battle With Cancer PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Putnam Valley resident has written a new book about the darkest time in his family's life that he believes will give people hope. Joe Bagnato is the author of "Family Inspires Great Hope Together: - How We Fight", about his daughter Caitlyn's 10.5 month battle with stage four liver cancer. Ossining Celebrates Milestone In Harbor Square Development OSSINING, N.Y. -- It was an event in Ossining Thursday 10 years in the making. Harbor Square, the $65 million Ginsburg Development Corporation project along the Hudson River that had been in the works since 2005, celebrated its "topping off" with a gathering of elected officials. The event marked the completion of the final floor and roof of the seven-story building.
