UMass-Dartmouth Freshman Killed While Walking On Campus: Police A 19-year-old UMass-Dartmouth student was killed Thursday, April 6, as he crossed campus, authorities said. Frank Petillo Jr., a freshman bioengineering student, after paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, the university said. Campus police were called to Ring Road around 5:30 p.m. to reports that someone had been hit by a car. Officers found Petillo on the road with severe injuries, authorities said. Coke, Cash: Worcester Man Busted With Several Stashes Of Cocaine, Police Say Police in Worcester said they found a small bag of cocaine inside a man's truck during a search on Wednesday, April 5. Then they found another and then several more at his home. In all, they collected nearly a half pound of the drug. Terrell Conyer-Jones, 29, faces trafficking a Class B substance following his arrest on Wednesday, Worcester police said. Vice detectives were on to Conyer-Jones. Hikers Launch Fundraiser For Westford Native Who Died Climbing NH Mountain Emily Sotelo was determined to climb all of New Hampshire's 48 mountains over 4,000 feet tall before her 20th birthday. The Westford, Massachusetts, native had topped 40 of them and wanted to finish the others while on Thanksgiving break from Vanderbilt University. Unfortunately, Sotelo disappeared while hiking up Mount Lafayette on Nov. 20, 2022. Searchers found her body was found three days later, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Date From Hell: Man Tried To Extort His Massachusetts Matches For Cash Dating is hard, but a Baltimore man made it criminally difficult for several women in Massachusetts when he allegedly extorted them following their rendezvous, officials said. Man Admits To Killing Toddler In Brockton; Gets 10-Year Sentence: DA A 28-year-old man who was accused of shaking a Brockton 2-year-old to death in 2016 pleaded guilty just as his trial was set to begin, authorities said.
