First-Degree Murder: Lawrence Man Accused In Fatal Shooting A 26-year-old man is accused of gunning down another in Lawrence last week, authorities said. Hector Raul Aybar-Soto, 26, of Lawrence, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 24-year-old Christopher Garcia on March 17, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. Investigators allege Aybar-Soto gunned down Garcia near 216 Walnut Street just before midnight, authorities said. Aybar-Soto was expected to be arraigned on Thursday in Lawrence District Court.

Found Dead After Two Years: Western Mass Man Disappeared in 2021 A 63-year-old man who disappeared in Hampden County two years ago was found dead last week. Gary Belder, of Springfield, was found on Memorial Drive in Chicopee on March 23, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said. Police do not believe he met with foul play. Belder told friends he planned to go to Smiley's on Boston Road in Springfield on July 5, 2021, but never returned.
