Gun, Heroin Found During Hatfield Traffic Stop; Vermont Man Busted: Police Police arrested a Vermont man last week after they found more than two dozen baggies of heroin and an unlicensed pistol in his car during a traffic stop, authorities said. James Watkins, 31, of Lyndonville, was pulled over just after midnight on Jan. 11 along Route 91 in Hatfield because the license plate on his Audi had been expired for more than a year, Massachusetts State Police said. Brian Walshe Charged With Killing Missing Wife, Ana Walshe: DA The Norfolk District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday, Jan. 17, that it would charge Brian Walshe with the murder of his 39-year-old wife, Ana Walshe, a Washington, DC building manager who has been missing since New Year's Day. Palmer Man Claims $1M Prize On Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket Wayne Doyle recently won $1 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “50X The Money” instant ticket game. The Palmer man decided to take the lump sum and will take home $650,000 before taxes. He didn't say what he had planned for the cash. S&S Food Mart at 1520 N. Unprovoked Attacks On Asian Women In Cambridge Leads To Charges: DA Authorities have charged a 53-year-old Cambridge man with attacking two Asian women without reason or remorse last year, officials announced on Tuesday, Jan. 17.Alexander Ivaneko faces charges of assault and battery on a person over 60 causing injury, assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery to intimidate, and two counts of civil rights violation with injury, the Suffolk County District Attorney said. Springfield Man Who Shot Someone 6 Times Sentenced To Decade In Prison: DA A judge sentenced a Springfield man who shot his rival six times to at least a dozen years behind bars — if not longer, authorities announced. Acton Hazmat Teams Respond After Garbage Man Nearly Faint After Inspecting Load: Officials Hazmat teams in Acton were called out to a potential hazardous materials incident after a trash truck driver nearly fainted after picking up a load on Friday, Jan. 13, officials said. The driver said he picked up trash around 9 a.m. in the area of 100 Nagog Park Drive when he began to feel dizzy and light-headed after inspecting the truck's load, fire officials said. The hazmat team inspected the load and determined it a Tier 1 situation, the lowest and less dangerous. They cleared the truck around 1 p.m. Paramedics took the driver to a local hospital for evaluation.
