Lawsuit Claims Ex-Arlington Catholic High Administrator Abused Student At School For Years A former student of Arlington Catholic High School has filed a lawsuit against three former officials at the Archdiocese of Boston because he said they hired and failed to stop the school's former vice principal who molested him, a news report said. Kevin Doherty contends in the suit that the former administrator sexually assaulted him multiple times between 1999 and 2001, Universal Hub reported. Teen Charged With Burning Down Antonio's Grinders In Springfield: Report Police arrested a 15-year-old and charged him with burning down a sandwich shop in Springfield earlier this month, a news report said. Amazon To Close Warehouses In Everett, Dedham, Mansfield, Others: Report Amazon announced Friday, Aug. 26, that the company would scale back some of its growth during the COVID-19 pandemic and begin closing some of its warehouses. That includes five in Massachusetts, according to a news report. The Boston Globe reported the massive online retailer planned to close delivery warehouses in Dedham, Everett, Randolph, Mansfield, and Milford. Suffolk County Woman Has State's First Case Of West Nile Virus This Year An elderly Suffolk County woman has contracted Massachusetts' first case of the West Nile Virus, state health officials announced on Thursday, Aug. 25. The one upside of the drought this year has been the smaller-than-normal population of mosquitos, which transmit the virus. Harvard Grad Student, 32, Died In Police Custody While On Indonesian Honeymoon A 32-year-old transgender Harvard student died earlier this month from alleged police misconduct while on a honeymoon in Indonesia, his family said. 37-Year-Old Woman Killed In Stoughton Rollover Wreck: Police A 37-year-old woman died Wednesday night, Aug. 24, after she wrecked her car on Route 24 in Stoughton, authorities said. Suzete Mendes, of Hyannis, was driving in the northbound lanes around 8:30 when her 2015 Infiniti Q40 went off the right side of the road, hit the guardrail, and rolled over, Massachusetts State Police said. Paramedics rushed her to Good Samaritan Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. No one else was injured. Police are investigating what caused Mendez to drive off the road and crash.
