Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands On Long Island A quick-moving storm system has knocked out power to thousands on Long Island. Wind gusts as high as around 60 miles per hour have resulted in downed trees and tree limbs in both Suffolk and Nassau counties, with Suffolk more heavily affected. As of 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, PSEG Long Island is reporting a total 182 outages, with 8,237 customers now without power. Most of the outages are on the East End, with a total of 7,714 outages in Suffolk County and 521 in Nassau. Here's Latest Timing On Powerful Storm With Strong Winds That Could Cause Power Outages A powerful, multiple-hazard storm will sweep through the Northeast, with the main impact on this region being strong, gusty winds that could cause power outages. Man Killed In Suffolk County House Fire A fatal Long Island house fire is under investigation. The blaze broke out in Selden at the home located at 357 Magnolia Drive at around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16. After the fire was extinguished, Earl Rahman, age 81, a resident of the home, was found dead, according to Suffolk County Police. There were no other injuries reported, Suffolk County Police said. A preliminary investigation by the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal in nature.

Suffolk County Man Seriously Injured After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Tree Police are investigating an overnight crash that left a Long Island man seriously injured. It happened around 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 in Huntington Station. The victim, a 40-year-old Huntington Station resident, was driving a 1993 Ford F-250 truck eastbound on West 11th Street, east of Oakwood Road, when the pickup truck skidded on ice, left the roadway, and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said. Suspect At Large After Nassau County Bank Robbery A suspect is at large after a bank robbery on Long Island. The male suspect entered Citi bank located in Mineola at 250 Old Country Road at around noontime on Saturday, Feb. 12, according to Nassau County Police.
