Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Man Charged With DWI After Fatal Hit-Run Crash A Long Island man has been charged with driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian overnight. Darwin Contreras, age 30, was driving a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in North Bay Shore northbound on Fifth Avenue when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street, in front of 1724 Fifth Ave., at approximately 12:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, Suffolk County Police said. Woman Killed In Chain-Reaction Fairfield County Crash A woman was killed in a chain-reaction crash in Fairfield County. It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 on Route 8 in Bridgeport. Toyota Corolla was traveling in the left lane southbound on Route 8 southbound as three other vehicles, a KIA Cadenza, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry, were traveling in the right lane near Exit 3, said Connecticut State Police. Man Killed After Being Struck By Pickup Truck At Long Island Intersection A man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck at a Long Island intersection overnight. The incident happened just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 in Bay Shore. A 54-year-old Bay Shore man was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Howells Road when the vehicle struck the pedestrian in the roadway at the intersection of Manatuck Boulevard, Suffolk County Police said. 24-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed On Residential Long Island Roadway An investigation is underway after a 24-year-old was fatally stabbed during a fight on a residential Long Island roadway. Suffolk County Police Third Precinct police officers responded to a report of the stabbing in Bay Shore on Walbridge Avenue at approximately 12:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15. Suspect At Large After Long Island Bank Robbery Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Long Island bank. A man entered Chase Bank, located in Copiague at 895 Merrick Road, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, and handed a teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said.
