Firefighters Battle Blaze On Croton Dam Road This story has been updated. CROTON, N.Y. - A fire destroyed an abandoned building on the Stokes-Greene property in Croton during a fire deemed suspicious by police, according to lohud.com. The fire on Croton Dam Road broke out early Sunday morning near the Croton Dam entrance on Route 129, and brought dozens of firefighters and equipment from Croton and other departments to the structure, described as a garage or warehouse-type building. Andrew Cuomo has lifted the ban on nonessential travel by state employees to Indiana, four days after enacting it, according to multiple reports.
