Y. -- A total of 18,000 walkers participated in the annual Westchester Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Manhattanville College in Purchase on Sunday, Oct. 19, raising $1.28 million, an increase of .19 percent over last year. Monies raised from the event help the American Cancer Society invest in groundbreaking breast-cancer research and provide free information and services for women who need them.
