Reading Areas At Yorktown Elementary Schools Memorialize Former Teacher YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Reading areas at two Yorktown elementary schools have been dedicated to the memory of a former teacher in a June ceremony.Brookside and Mohansic elementary schools now have outdoor areas to read and honor the memory of Carole Jacobson who died in 2015. GoFundMe Page Launched For Paralyzed Pawling Man PAWLING, N.Y. -- A GoFundMe page has been established for a Pawling resident who was paralyzed due to an auto accident June 10.Donations will help pay for medical expenses for Richie Rubino and modifications to his home. The married father was treated for his critical, life-threatening injuries at Westchester Medical Center. He spent two weeks in a trauma intensive care unit and underwent surgery. Popular Somers Guidance Counselor Deborah Hardy Leaving District SOMERS, N.Y. - A popular Somers school guidance counselor whose position was kept despite budget cuts a half-year ago because of community pressure is leaving the district and will be receiving $80,000, The Somers Record reported.
