Land Purchase Makes Way For Target In Yonkers YONKERS, N.Y. -- A proposal for a land purchase for a new Target in Yonkers met with approval Wednesday, according to lohud.com. The land off Austin Avenue will be bought by Morris Companies for $32 million, said the lohud.com report. Of that amount, $13 million will go to the city, while $19 million will go to Westchester County, according to lohud.com. Both the city and the county control parts of the parcel, reported lohud.com. Peekskill Kids, Artists Create Mural On Diversity PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Students at Woodside Elementary School worked with artists recently on a large-scale mural project.Artists Andrew Barthelmes, Geoff Feder, Lance Johnson and Donna Mikkelsen and the children collaborated as part of Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art's In-School Artist Residency Program.  The program brings artists into the school to work with students, aiming to enhance and enrich Woodside's standard curriculum.
