Irvington Boys Track, Field Team Crowned League Champions
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- The Irvington High School Boys Track and Field team were crowned league champions May 10 after they edged out Westlake High School by 3.5 points.The team was led by Hubert Yang, who won the 200-meter race, the 400- meter race in a state-qualifying time of 50.00, and anchored the winning 4x400- meter relay. Griffin Knapp was part of the winning 4x800-meter relay, and won both the 110-meter high hurdles and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, the latter in a state-qualifying time of 56.89. Two From Miami Charged In Credit Card Fraud In Wilton
WILTON, Conn.-- Two Miami residents have been charged with credit card fraud in Wilton after police said they attempted to obtain credit cards without the authorization of residents. Bank of America advised the U.S. Postal Inspector’s office that there were several fraudulent debit/credit cards being mailed to addresses in Wilton, said police. These cards were ordered without the consent of the residents and were to be delivered by USPS on Monday, May 23, according to police. Weston Man Accused Of Hitting Employee Of Wilton Animal Hospital
WILTON, Conn. -- A Weston man is accused of assaulting an employee at Wilton Hospital for Animals, said police.In the May 17 incident, Ralph Hunt, 73, is accused of striking an employee in the back allegedly causing a minor physical injury, according to police. He was charged with third-degree assault and is due in court May 27, police said.

Four More Interviewed To Replace Retiring Danbury Police Chief
DANBURY, Conn. -- The final four candidates to replace Danbury Police Chief Al Baker were interviewed on Thursday, according to WLAD-AM. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton told WLAD-AM that the new chief will be selected in the "coming days,." Five internal candidates and three not already in the department applied for the position, said WLAD-AM. Baker is retiring in June. Graduates Step Off For Commencement At Fairfield University
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Degrees were handed out Sunday at the 2016 Fairfield University Commencement. Two ceremonies took place on the university's Bellarmine Lawn. In the morning, 1,030 bachelor's degrees were bestowed on graduates, while 423 master's degrees, 16 6th Year Certificates, and 27 Doctorates were given in the afternoon. Chapel School Sisters Serve As Day's 'Pastors' In Bronxville
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- A pair of sisters who attend the Chapel School in Bronxville recently served as "Pastors for the Day," at Village Lutheran Church.“We are headed to the food bank," one of the girls, Michele and Melissa, said. Hopewell Junction Opens Switching Tower
HOPEWELL JUNCTION -- Community members, volunteers and local officials celebrated the opening of a new switching tower at Hopewell Depot Park in Hopewell Junction on May 20.The building houses the only real restrooms on the adjacent William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail. A second floor will ultimately have exhibit about how the tower controlled traffic on train lines in the area.
