Stamford Man Charged With Hate Crime In Stabbing
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford police made a second arrest, charging a man Tuesday with a hate crime and assault, in the Thursday stabbing of a man during which the suspect hollered homosexual insults, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Evander Cruz, 18, reportedly turned himself into police on a warrant police obtained four days earlier, said the report.
He was charged with first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and intimidation by bigotry, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Wilton Police Charge Danbury Man With Drunken Driving
WILTON, Conn. — A Danbury driver was charged with drinking and driving Saturday after being stopped for speeding in Wilton, according to police.
Police reportedly pulled over a vehicle at 2:15 p.m. for traveling at 55 mph in a 40-mph zone.
Upon pulling over the vehicle, the driver, Curtis W. Heard, 45, of Danbury, allegedly showed some signs of intoxication, said police.
The standard field sobriety test was conducted, and Heard allegedly showed more signs of intoxication, according to police.

Cortlandt Wins Planning Award From State
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Town of Cortlandt has received the New York Planning Federation Award, Supervisor, Linda D. Puglisi, Town of Cortlandt, has announced.The Award was given for the Town's recently adopted new Sustainable Comprehensive Master Plan.
Puglisi accepted the award in Saratoga Springs April 28, along with Councilman Seth Freach, Master Plan committee member, and the committee's planning staff members, Chris Kehoe, Rosemary Boyle-Lasher, Michelle Robbins; town attorney, Tom Wood, and a representative of consultant, AKRF, Anthony Russo.
