PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Key Food Stores Co-operative Inc. has opened its first Key Food in Port Chester at 130 Midland Ave.The store's grand opening with Port Chester Mayor Dennis G. Pilla, Westchester County Chief of Staff George Oros, and Key Food executives in attendance was Friday, April 8. C.V Starr Young Artists Skateboard Art Displayed At Brewster Restaurant
BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Painted skateboards by art students in 4th grade at C.V. Starr Intermediate School are on display for a year at the Clock Tower Grill, Route 22, Brewster.The 3rd such exhibition, it represents months of work by the students. First they had to research artists, and brainstorm ideas for their compositions, then sand and prep skateboard surfaces, finally adding paint in layers in time for the opening April 7. The display is a collaboration with the restaurant's owners Rich & Cassie Parente, teacher Michielini (Scalera), and morning program students.

Older Drivers May Schedule Free 'CarFit' Safety Technicians In Haverstraw
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- A CarFit safety event for older drivers is set for April 30 from 9 a.m. to noon by appointment (20 minutes per driver and their personal vehicle) at Helen Hayes Hospital Parking Lot, 9W, West Haverstraw, N.Y. Holocaust Survivor Speaks Of Hate Crimes At Hastings High School
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Ed Lessing, who survived the Holocaust, addressed students in a Thursday assembly at Hastings High School.The assembly was called in response to what police said was a bias crime in January, when houses were egged and painted with swastikas, according to a release. Lessser survived during Nazi occupation in Holland in World War II by hiding with his family and posing as a Christian farmworker.
