The work is to enhance roadway safety and minimize seasonal flooding. Daniel John Hannigan, a longtime resident of Wappingers Falls, died Thursday, March 24. He was 94. A Navy veteran of World War II, Hannigan graduated from Cornell University in 1950 and went on to own and operate a successful veterinary practice in Wappingers Falls for 35 years.  He was active in politics, serving as a Dutchess County legislator from 1972-80.
