Major Bridgework Planned In Dutchess DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. ---The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced that several bridge replacement and projects are scheduled to begin throughout Dutchess County, beginning in early April.  Repair or replacement work includes bridges on Degarmo Road (CR 43) over the Wappinger Creek in the Towns of LaGrange and Poughkeepsie; on North Avenue (CR 72) over the Great Spring Creek in the Town of Pleasant Valley; and on Linden Avenue (CR 79) over the Saw Kill in the Town of Red Hook.  The following are the projects: Rehabilitation of Bridges PO-17X and L-43 on Degarmo Road in …

Norwalk's Columbus Magnet School Goes Outside With Audubon Grant NORWALK, Conn. -- The Columbus Magnet School in South Norwalk has received a grant from Greenwich of Audubon to improve the playground by developing a Habitat, and an outdoor learning area. The school has been chosen as a 2015-16 partner school in the Schoolyard Habitat program and will work with staff from Audubon Connecticut and Audubon Greenwich in creating native habitat to support migratory songbirds and an outdoor classroom.  The grant also offers teacher training to conduct common core, inquiry-based instruction outside.  Integrating the curriculum into an outdoor learning experience…
