DARIEN, Conn. -- Dance, visual arts, theater, and martial arts are among 70 classes available to kids and adults in the spring/winter schedule at the Darien Arts Center.Among dance classes:
Dance Beginnings for ages 3 and 4 Thursdays from 2 to 2:45 p.m., with classes beginning Jan. 28.
Pre-Ballet for ages 4 and 5 takes place Thusday, from 3 to 3:45 p.m., with classes beginning Jan. 28.
Kinderballet for kindergarteners only takes place Wednesday, from 4 to 4:45 p.m., with classes beginning Jan. 27.
These classes are $280, with $25 registration fee.

Yonkers' Hudson River Museum Features Sculpture By Katonah Artist
YONKERS, N.Y. -- The first solo museum exhibition for Katonah artist Thomas Doyle, "If the Creek Don't Rise" will run Saturday, Feb. 6, to Sunday, May 8, at the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers.Doyle’s small-scale sculpture of a house in "If the Creek Don’t Rise" tells the story that takes place in a gray zone between everyday events and calamities that can, at any time, strike a home.
Doyle’s “people,” an assortment of miniature figures, carry on, oblivious to encroaching danger.
Viewers, though, see it and are visually plunged into a world where an unsettlingly familia…
New Rochelle Gallery Calling Artists For Freedom, Love, Equality Exhibition
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Council on the Arts will present an exhibition, "Collective Conscience: Love, Respect, and Truth" at the NRCA Rotunda Gallery Feb. 17 to March 31. There will be an opening reception Feb. 17.
In honor of Black History Month, Women's History Month and Valentine's Day, the exhibit encompasses the themes of freedom, love and equality.
Artists may submit for consideration original two- and three-dimensional wall-hung work, in all media, not to exceed a hanging weight of 20 pounds.
