Former Stamford High School Principal Donna Valentine Fired
STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Board of Education decided in an 8-0 vote to fire former Stamford High School Principal Donna Valentine Monday after she did not make known suspicions regarding sex between a teacher and student at the school, according to the Stamford Advocate.With her lawyers present, Valentine went before nine school board officials that needed to decide her penalty, said the Stamford Advocate. Arc Of Dutchess Brings Snow Ball To Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The snowstorm did not prevent a crowd from attending the the Dutchess Snow Ball in Poughkeepsie.The fundraiser supports the Arc of Dutchess that serves more than 900 people with developmental disabilities and their families in Dutchess County. Dr. Roger A. Fazzone who is President of the Maplebrook School was honoree. He received the Catherine Seeberger Citizenship Award for championing initiatives for those in need. Wing Wars Coming To Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Hudson Valley Wing Competition returns Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie. Live music and beer round out the evening. Milford Coating Business Relocating To Stratford
STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford will soon be home to a coating company moving to town from Milford, according to the Stratford Star. Purchase of an office building at 430 Sniffens Lane to house the business was completed by Coating Design Group on Jan. 21, said the Stratford Star. The location's prior occupant, Advanced Graphic Inc., will move to South Avenue, reported the Stratford Star. RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department's enhanced 911 emergency contact telephone system will be able to handle text messages once the service reaches Connecticut, according to the Ridgefield Press.
