Iona Prep Students Savor 'Happy Birthday Jesus' Celebration NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Students engaged in more than 20 different activities as part of the "Happy Birthday Jesus" celebration at Iona Prep in New Rochelle.All students took part in the Dec. 15 “carnival of Christmas." Eight-graders, with help from Upper School Campus Ministers, ran the Nativity-themed game stations.  The seventh- graders shepherded the K-6 students, who earned tickets, which could be cashed in for prizes, by playing games and answering questions that enhanced their knowledge of the Holy Family.

20 Thefts From Parked Cars In Put Valley, Southeast Prompt New Warning PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- In the wake of 20 thefts of property from parked cars in the towns of Putnam Valley and Southeast the Putnam County Sheriff's office warns residents to lock their cars in those areas, police said. The common denominator in the majority of those incidents is that the cars had been left unlocked by their owners, according to police. The property stolen from the unlocked vehicles has included cash and credit cards, GPS devices and other electronics, and a variety of other items, said police.
