Fair Lawn Will Lay Wreaths For Vets, Collect Toys For Tots
FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Fair Lawn will participate with hundreds of other communities nationwide in laying wreaths in hor of veterans and active duty military personnel on Dec. 12. There will also be a dropoff point during Wreaths Across America Day beginning at noon at the Veterans Memorial and flagpole at Borough Hall on Fair Lawn Avenue. "Hundreds of thousands of wreaths are donated and placed on graves and memorials to our veterans all across the nation, with Arlington National Cemetery as the center point," Mayor John Cosgrove said.

Bridgeport Police Find Home Filled With Pot Plants On Burglary Call
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Officers called to a reported burglary in process instead found a home filled with multiple marijuana plants, Bridgeport police said. According to police, a call came in at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, reporting a burglary in progress at a home on Reservoir Avenue near Victory Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a side door that appeared to have been forced open, police said. Benchmark Proposes 88-Unit Assisted Living Facility In Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – An assisted living residence with 88 units is being proposed by Benchmark Senior Living to be built next to its Carolton Nursing Home in Fairfield, according to the Connecticut Post. Benchmark's lawyer has filed an application with the Town Plan and Zoning Commission for an exception for the project because of its residential zone location, says the Connecticut Post. Bridgeport Man Gets 17 In Prison For Stealing 111 Firearms
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Bridgeport man who stole 111 firearms from a gun factory has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly announced Tuesday. “This defendant not only stole more than 100 firearms, but he quickly sold dozens of them on the street putting them directly into the hands of criminals,” said Daly.
