Clarkstown School District Invites Community Input On Repairs Bond CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown Board of Education wants the community's input prior to the Oct. 15 vote on the proposed 2015 Bond for Critical Systems so a meeting is set for Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Felix Festa Middle School, 30 Parrot Road in West Nyack. Grant To Dobbs Ferry's Mercy College Supports Speech Program DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation Grant was awarded to Mercy College Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 2:30 p.m. The $30,000 grant will support the college’s Speech and Hearing Center. The center is part of the School of Health and Natural Sciences supporting the Communication Disorder/Speech Pathology Program. The center offers evaluation and treatment services for people with communication disorders. Among 60 clients seen by the center each week, 85 to 90 percent is school age children. The grant has enabled the Speech and Hearing Center to enhance and update equipment. …

Woman Charged In Alleged Jefferson Valley Mall Punching Incident YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Montrose woman was charged with second-degree harassment Oct. 9 in connection with an alleged punching incident Sept. 21 at Shoe Dept. Encore in the Jefferson Valley Mall, according to Yorktown police.Police say they received a call from a Shoe Dept. Encore employee alleging she was punched by another employee. Upon investigation, police allegedly identified the employee as Zaria Davis. She was processed at the scene then released, according to Yorktown police. Davis is due in Yorktown Court Oct. 27, according to police.
