Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Chick's Deli and Ponzio's Diner-Bakery-Bar, both in Cherry Hill, reported that an employee recently had tested positive for COVID-19.  Restaurant owners planned a deep cleaning during the closure, according to their Facebook postings. Person Sleeping In Dumpster Rescued From Monmouth Garbage Truck First responders were called to Monmouth County on a report of someone injured in a garbage truck. Someone was sleeping in a Dumpster on Monday afternoon when it was emptied into the back of a garbage truck, according to initial reports.  The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at Ocean Avenue and Cottage Place in Long Branch, reports said.  The Dumpster victim was giving EMS and police problems, according to an unconfirmed report.  This is a developing story. Pedestrian, 44, Struck, Killed In South Jersey Crash A 44-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in Atlantic County on Sunday night, authorities said. Pedro Silva was fatally struck about 8 p.m. by a westbound vehicle while crossing Black Horse Pike near Palermo Avenue, Egg Harbor Township police said. Silva was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, police said.  The SUV driver, a 26-year-old Egg Harbor Township man whose name has not been released by police, stopped and has not been charged.
