Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Pedestrian Killed By Amtrak Train In New Brunswick A pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train Wednesday night in Middlesex County, authorities said. The victim's name and age have not been released. It is not clear why they were on the tracks. State Police Chase Suspect By Air, Foot, K-9 Along NJ Turnpike State troopers in Middlesex County were reported in pursuit of a suspect late Wednesday afternoon. The chase was reported along the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 77.7 in East Brunswick about 4:30 p.m., according to initial, unconfirmed reports. Troopers were reportedly searching for the suspect on foot and with the use of a K-9 unit.
