Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Leonardo Man, 37, Struck, Killed By BMW On I-78 In Newark A Monmouth County man was killed when he was hit by a BMW while walking on a ramp to Interstate 78 westbound in Newark, police said. Travis J. Sherman, 37, of Leonardo in Middletown Township, was struck at 8:50 p.m. Thursday as he walked on the ramp leading to the highway from Routes 1 and 9 north, according to New Jersey State Police. Firefighters Respond To Call In Atlantic Highlands Firefighters were called to a three-story home in Atlantic Highlands on Thursday afternoon. Initial unconfirmed reports said a fire broke out on the third floor at 25 Ocean Blvd. about 4:20 p.m. A ladder truck had been set up for access to the roof, according to unconfirmed reports.  The fire was reported under control by 4:40 p.m.

School Lockdown In Morganville A school in Monmouth County was locked down Thursday afternoon, according to reports. Marlboro Township police confirmed they were called to CPC High Point School in Morganville at 3 p.m. for an unknown incident, but could not report any other details. Circumstances prompting the lockdown were unknown. Initial unconfirmed reports said the call appears to be a false alarm but that, as a precaution, police were clearing the school at 1 High Point Center Way in Morganville.

The winning ticket from Wednesday's Powerball drawing was sold at ShopRite, 611 West Union Ave. in Bound Brook.
