14-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Jersey City Teen: Prosecutors A 14-year-old boy in Jersey City was arrested and charged for his involvement in the fatal shooting of Tyshawn Smith, a 15-year-old Jersey City resident on Friday, June 9, authorities said. The teenager was charged as a juvenile with aggravated manslaughter and multiple weapons charges, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Three Teens Nabbed After Stealing Car, Fleeing From Officers: Secaucus PD Three teenage boys were arrested and charged after they stole a car, hit a police vehicle and fled from officers in Secaucus on the early morning of Friday, June 9 authorities said. At 5:03 a.m., a police officer observed a black Kia Forte with no lights on and occupied by four people wearing ski masks near Radio Avenue by Route 3 West, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Car Collides With Telephone Pole, Two Kids Injured: Rahway Police Two juveniles were injured after a car crashed into a telephone pole in Rahway on the afternoon of Friday, June 9, authorities said. At 1:37 p.m., police were dispatched to New Church Street and Church Street on a report of a 2015 Honda Accord striking a telephone pole, Detective/Sergeant Douglas Botti said. East Orange Constable Convicted Of Impersonating Officer: Prosecutors A 55-year-old East Orange man was convicted of impersonating a police officer and unlawful possession of a weapon, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II announced on Friday, June 9. Last July, Todd Thompson, who was appointed a constable in the City of East Orange, performed an illegal traffic stop near Newark Penn Station, using police lights he installed in his personal vehicle, Stephens said. Inspiring Coach Sees Community Support After Shooting The Montclair community wants to help Coach Butter. Khalid Branch a.ka. Coach Butter was shot in the foot over Mother's Day weekend. MetLife Stadium announced Ed Sheeran's two shows, on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, will remain on as scheduled.
