Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Red Light Running Driver At Large After Fatal Hit-Run Crash At MD Intersection: Police An 88-year-old woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver who ran a red light and proceeded to speed away in a white pick-up truck, police say. Officers from the Baltimore Police Department were called to the 3700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue late on Monday afternoon, where there was a reported hit-and-run crash with at least one person injured. Flood Watches Issued As New Round Of Storms Set To Hit DMV Region The DMV Region may be in for another round of rough weather on Tuesday afternoon. Forecasters say that there is a "Level 2" risk of severe weather on Tuesday, Aug. 15, which could bring isolated tornadoes, large hail, and potentially damaging winds, and flooding throughout the area. DC Man Busted For Possessing, Distributing Child Porn For Years Police say that a multi-agency investigation led to the apprehension of a Southeast DC man on multiple child pornography charges. The Metropolitan Police Department announced that Michael Humphrey, 41, was arrested by local and federal officers following an investigation into the distribution of child porn in the region. Prince George's County Public Schools Hit Cyberattack Prince George’s County Schools were the target of a cyberattack that impacted thousands of accounts, district officials announced. On Monday morning, an estimated 4,500 user accounts out of 180,000 were impacted by the attack, primarily members of the staff, they said, though as of Tuesday afternoon they were still assessing the full scope of the incident. Maryland Minister's DC Killer Heading To Federal Penitentiary it'll be years in prison for a Maryland man who stabbed a well-educated minister to death in a DC nightclub. Michael Dolson, 37, of Upper Marlboro, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the March 2022 stabbing death of Silver Spring resident Kenneth Thomas, 42, federal authorities announced.
