Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Mercedes While Crossing Howard County Road, Police Say Police have identified the 44-year-old man who was struck and killed by a Mercedes driver while crossing the road overnight. Rosedale resident James Douglas Williams, Jr. was struck on Washington Boulevard near Wilbert Lane by a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350, according to Howard County Police investigators. The incident happened at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday night in Laurel. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Driver Trapped, Charged After Crashing Pick-Up Into MD Home A 67-year-old man was hospitalized in Montgomery County after losing control and smashing through the front of a Rockville home. Early on Thursday morning, officers from the Rockville Police Department were called to the 2200 block of McAuliffe Drive, when a driver crashed a Ford pick-up truck into the residence, causing extensive damage.
