Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Stolen Car Crashes Into Undercover Police Cruiser In Maryland A teenager is in custody in connection to a stolen vehicle that crashed into an undercover police vehicle in Baltimore County, officials said. Dundalk officers were working an undercover car theft detail regarding two stolen Hyundais overnight when the suspects smashed into an unmarked cruiser, according to police. One teenager was arrested by members of the Baltimore County Police Department, though others were reportedly involved.  Charges are pending.
