Annie is a proud alumna of Purdue University, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Anthropology. She began her journalism career in front of a camera, reporting news across the Midwest.

Annie’s passion for journalism began back in high school during her time in Youth In Government, where she served as as reporter and press editor for several years. She is proud to have pursued her childhood dream of becoming a journalist. From breaking news to archery on horseback to hanging out with kangaroos, Annie is grateful to share the stories and events of those around her.

In her free time, Annie enjoys showing her horses and watching sports. The only granddaughter of Indiana Pacer’s founder Chuck DeVoe and stepdaughter of Purdue Men’s Basketball Announcer and former player Ralph Taylor, Annie’s love for Indiana basketball runs deep.

A US history buff, Annie is proud to provide news to the Capitol region.

Hyperthermia Alert Issued For Montgomery County As Heat Rises A Hyperthermia Alert has been issued for Montgomery County this week in preparation for extreme heat, officials say. The alert will be active for Wednesday, July 20, from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. as temperatures are expected to exceed 95 degrees, according to the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Temperatures are expected to hover in the low to mid-90s through the rest of the week, approaching 100 degrees during the weekend in the region. Members Of Congress Arrested During Protest That Stopped Traffic In DC A protest demonstration that stopped traffic on a Washington D.C. street resulted in the arrest of 35 people, including 17 Members of Congress, authorities say. Demonstrators began blocking traffic on First Street NE shortly after 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, according to US Capitol Police. The midshipman's death was confirmed the morning of Sunday, July 17, according to US Naval Academy officials. Maryland Teen Arrested After Fatal Shooting In DC A Hyattsville teenager has been arrested in connection to a January homicide, authorities say. The 15-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, July 19 for the murder of Devin Brewer, 19, back in January 2022, according to Metropolitan police. Child Rescued After Near Drowning On Montgomery County Trail A young child has been rescued after becoming trapped in swift water while on a hike in Montgomery County, authorities say. Child Squeegee Worker Arrested After Shooting Two In Baltimore Another child squeegee worker has been arrested after shooting two victims in Baltimore, authorities say. The 12-year-old squeegee worker allegedly began taunting the victims in the 600 block of East Fayette Street around noon on Monday, July 18, according to a spokesperson for the Baltimore Police Department.
