South Jersey Dealer Used Apartment Complex To Sell Drugs: Prosecutors A Lakewood man was accused of selling several illegal drugs from an Ocean County apartment complex, authorities said. Jamar Montgomery, 30, was given more than a dozen charges, including several drug-related offenses, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced on Thursday, Feb. 22. He was arrested in a two-week-long investigation at Freedom Village off Massachusetts Avenue in Toms River. Investigators said Montgomery used a home on Dream Court to store and sell narcotics. Crews Battle Morning House Fire In Monmouth County Firefighters quickly put out a morning house fire in Neptune Township, officials said. Parts of Ridge and 7th avenues were closed as crews were at the scene of the fire at around 8:30 a.m., according to the Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management.  The fire was extinguished by 9:15 a.m. The road remained closed as investigators determined the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Kathryn "Kate" Herdman was diagnosed with "an aggressive terminal grade-four glioblastoma tumor" in November 2023, according to a memorial fundraiser on GoFundMe. Her obituary said the South Toms River woman died at 36 years old on Monday, Feb. 12. Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa will open on Friday, June 14, and has begun accepting reservations on its website, according to a news release.
