Bomb Threat Received By Allentown Synagogue Was Not Credible, Police Say Allentown police responded to a bomb threat at a city synagogue on Thursday, according to the department.  Authorities said the Congregation Keneseth Israel at 2227 Chew Street received a threat about an explosive device around 11:40 a.m. that was "determined to be unfounded."  Allentown firefighters also responded to the scene, police said.  APD and the FBI are continuing to investigate.

Pedestrian Struck Dead In Allentown Hit-Run, Authorities Say An 85-year-old pedestrian was killed Thursday morning, Oct. 19, by a driver who then fled the scene, according to officials.  The Lehigh County Coroner's Office said the victim was hit near Union Boulevard and North Jerome Street around 8:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, the Coroner said. No Arrests Made In Deadly Philadelphia Shooting, Police Say A 31-year-old man is dead after gunshots rang out on a Southwest Philadelphia street Tuesday night, Oct. 17, officials say.  It happened on the 5400 block of Chester Avenue in Kingsessing just after 6:45 p.m., city police told Daily Voice. The unnamed victim was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at Presbyterian Hospital by 7 p.m. No arrests were made and no weapons had been recovered from the scene by Wednesday, Oct. 18, PPD said.

Suspects Sought In Bloody Break-In At Montgomery County Home Authorities are searching for a pair of accused burglars who they said left a blood stain on the carpet of a Lower Moreland home.  The break-in happened sometime on the night of July 17 in a residential area along Welsh Road, said township police.  The house was "heavily ransacked" by the time officers arrived, the department said. Man Shot In Groin Ending Argument At Philly Area Wawa, Police Say A Delaware County man is charged with attempted murder after police claim he shot another man during a fight in a Wawa parking lot.  Keimork Buffaloe and a friend were talking to two other men at the 2608 Chichester Avenue shop late on Sept. 1 when an argument broke out, according to authorities. Driver Comes Under Gunfire On Reading Road, Authorities Say A driver was shot at while cruising along South 10th Street in Reading early Wednesday morning, Oct. 18, according to city police.  The driver's car was damaged by gunfire near the corner of Cotton Street around 1 a.m., RPD detailed.  The victim told police he thought the shots came from an alley near a corner store at 498 S. 10th Street. Bullet casings were recovered from the area by investigators.   The shooting remains under investigation, Reading police said. Anyone with information can call RPD at 610-655-6116.
