Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Inmate Dies In Cumberland County Jail: Prosecutor Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Cumberland County Jail in Bridgeton.  On Tuesday, March 1, at approximately 5:32 p.m, Correctional Police Officers from the Cumberland County Department of Corrections discovered a 54-year-old male who was unresponsive in his cell.  His death appeared to be a suicide, but the cause is pending autopsy results, according to Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. State Trooper's Cruiser Crashes In South Jersey A New Jersey State trooper escaped serious injury when his cruiser crashed in South Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at 12:39 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 on Route 45 south near Acton Station Road in Mannington Township, a State Police spokesman said.  There was a collision between the State Police troop car and a Ford Expedition.  The trooper was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and later released, the spokesman said. Man Convicted Of Raping Woman After 1st Date On Jersey Shore Beach, Authorities Say A Monmouth County jury has found a Hudson County man guilty of raping a woman after their first date at a Jersey Shore beach, authorities said Kawami R. Junor, 28, of Bayonne, was convicted on all charges, including sexual assault, criminal restraint and criminal sexual contact, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.
