Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Snow Squalls, Gusty Winds, Temperature Plunge Will Accompany Strong Cold Front A quick-moving storm system that brought a blast of snow to the region has moved east, but a strong approaching cold front will result in snow squalls, snow showers, gusty winds and a drop in temperatures across the area. IDs Released For Three Killed In One-Car Southern State Parkway Crash Three people who died from injuries sustained in the one-car crash on the Southern State Parkway late last week have been identified. First responders were dispatched to a stretch of the parkway at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, when the westbound crash involving a 2015 Infinity sedan was reported in Islip, state police said. The crash temporarily caused police investigators to close down westbound lanes near exit 41A. Pier 1 Will Close Nearly Half Its Stores Amid Bankruptcy Speculation Pier 1 Imports announced it will close up to 450 stores, nearly half of its 942 outlets. The news comes amid rumors unconfirmed that the retailer will soon file for bankruptcy and after another quarter of declining sales and losses. Pier 1 said sales decreased 11.4 percent compared to the third quarter of fiscal 2019. Pier 1, which did not reveal the timetable for store closures, said it plans to shut down some distribution centers and reduce its corporate headcount while also slashing expenses. Man Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Among Three Putnam Inmates Released Under Criminal Justice Reforms A man accused in a fatal hit-and-run crash is among three suspects incarcerated on pending criminal charges in Putnam released under new criminal justice reforms that took effect on Wednesday, Jan. 1, County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. said. Among those released was 40-year-old Javier Lorenzano-Fercano, who was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal automobile accident, a Class D felony. Police Investigate Death Of Long Island Man Following Altercation Police have launched an investigation into the death of a Long Island man following an altercation several days earlier. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man on Sunday, Jan. 5 after reporting he was in an altercation in the Riverhead area earlier this month. Multiple Shots Fired Into Occupied Long Island House, Police Say Detectives are investigating an incident in which multiple gunshots were fired into a residence on Long Island overnight. Three men were observed fleeing the scene in an automobile after the shots were fired. Man Enters Teenage Girl's Bedroom After Breaking Into Northern Westchester Home, Police Say A man broke into a Northern Westchester home and then entered a teenage girl's bedroom where he requested money, police say.
