A driver was killed after their car plunged into the Passaic River in Morris County Tuesday morning, police confirmed. The vehicle veered off the roadway alongside Home Goods at 977 Valley Road in Gillette before striking a tree and landing in a low water level portion of the Passaic River around 10:30 a.m., Long Hill Township Police Chief Ahmed Naga told DailyVoice.com. Raccoon Tests Positive For Rabies In Hunterdon County
A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Hunterdon County, health officials said. The animal was seen near Brookfield Drive, Deer Court, Pheasant Lane, and Route 614 in Holland Township and tested positive for rabies on Monday, April 11, according to the Hunterdon County Dept. of Health. A trapped victim was being flown to a nearby hospital following a Tuesday morning crash in Hunterdon County, developing reports say. A truck collided with a car and hit a pole near Oldwick Road and Route 78 in Tewksbury Township around 7:10 a.m., according to initial and unconfirmed reports. The victim was extricated from the vehicle as a Northstar medical helicopter was requested to land at the Oldwick Fire House, the initial report says. Poconos Man Charged In Infant Son's Death
A Poconos man has been charged in connection with the death of his 3-month-old son, reports say. Michael Noel Yard, 32, of Middle Smithfield Township, told police that he had left the infant boy’s bedroom for 10 to 15 minutes after feeding him and putting him to sleep on his side last August, LehighValleyLive reports citing state police. A man and woman were charged after a traffic stop on the NJ Turnpike led to the discovery of more than 400 bricks of heroin and cocaine, authorities announced. A 25-year-old motorcyclist was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital following a serious crash in Hunterdon County, police confirmed. The rider lost control of his Suzuki 750 near Route 629 just off Route 22 in Clinton Township around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11, Clinton Township Police Sgt. Harry P. Bugal Jr. said in a release. The man was flown to the hospital with several serious injuries, authorities said. The crash remained under investigation by the Clinton Township Police Department.
