DWI Hopatcong Woman Had Nearly A Dozen Heroin Folds After Crashing Into Phone Pole, Police Say
A Hopatcong woman was found with nearly a dozen heroin folds after crashing into a telephone pole in Sussex County Sunday night, authorities said.
Alyssa Gessner, 25, crashed into the pole on Stanhope Road in Sparta around 9:15 p.m., Lt. John Lamon said in a Monday release.
A follow-up investigation found that Gessner was under the influence of heroin during the crash, Lamon said.
Meanwhile, Gessner was found with 11 wax folds of heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia, police said.

A suspect has been arrested in connection to the deadly shooting of a 25-year-old Trenton man outside a local bar, authorities said.
Yancy Young, 33, was charged with murder and several weapons offenses, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Monday.
The victim, Michael Degrasse Jr., was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen outside Championship Bar as officers responded to the 900 block of Chambers Street in Trenton around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, Onofri said.

Busted: DUI Driver Had More Than 450 Bags Of Heroin In Hunterdon County Stop, Police Say
A 24-year-old Middlesex County woman was found with more than 450 bags of heroin when she was pulled over for driving under the influence in Hunterdon County, authorities said.
Holly Saeger, of New Brunswick, was stopped by Patrolman Gregory Zytko in Flemington around 11 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, local police said in a Friday release.
More than 450 bags of suspected heroin, as well as prescription medications and drug paraphernalia, were found in Saeger’s vehicle following a “positive indication” from K9 Kita, police said.
The heroin had a street value of approximately $4,000, police said. …
Designer Sunglasses Worth $4,500 Stolen From Mercer County Mall Kiosk, Police Say
Nearly a dozen pairs of designer sunglasses worth about $4,500 were stolen from a Mercer County mall, authorities said.
A man and woman stole 11 pairs of glasses from Sunglass Hut at the Market Fair Mall on Route 1 around 1:50 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, local police said in a release on Wednesday, March 9.
The suspects then quickly left the mall before officers arrived, police say.
The glasses had a total estimated value of $4,500, police said.
