DA: Grandmother Allowed PA Dad Unsupervised Contact With Baby At Time Of Brutal Beating A 63-year-old grandmother from Florida has been charged in connection to the severe beating of the 2-month-old grandson in her care in Montgomery County, authorities said. 'Ask To See Their Permit,' Police Warn After Nabbing Paving Solicitor, Scammer In Morris County A man police say pretended to work for an asphalt company to solicit and scam residents in Morris County was charged after a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon, police said. The man — whose identity was not released — was stopped on Colby Farm Road for several violations around 12:30 p.m., Chester Police said. Hess died in a motorcycle crash on August 8 at the age of 32. Hess was riding his motorcycle near North Fireline Rd. in Parryville when he hit a concrete retaining wall and landed in the roadway, Fox56 reports. He was pronounced dead at the scene. VA Man, 30, Killed In Crash On Route 512 In Northampton County A 30-year-old Virginia man was killed in a Monday morning crash on Route 512 in Northampton County, authorities confirmed. Reginald Wilson was driving on Route 512 north of Sterners Way in Hanover Township when he collided with another vehicle around 8:50 a.m., the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said. Wilson, of Chesapeake, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma to the head and neck at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Muhlenberg around 9:30 a.m., authorities said. The incident remains under investigation by the coroner's office and the Colonial Regional Police Department.

BMW With More Than $3K Cash Stolen From Morris County Driveway Found Abandoned In Irvington A BMW containing more than $3,000 cash that was stolen from the driveway of a Morris County home was later found abandoned in Irvington, authorities said. A resident of Knollwood Road in Hanover reported having a black 2016 BMW B42 stolen from his driveway sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on July 19, police said. The car had been packed for an upcoming vacation and was equipped with $3,000 in cash, as well as several laptops and iPads, police said. The car, which was left with a key fob inside, was later found abandoned in Irvington using its GPS tracking system, police said.

Morris County Gas Station Burglarized, Police Say Authorities in Morris County are investigating after a local gas station was burglarized overnight. Officers responding to the Lukoil gas station on Route 10 in Whippany Monday morning were told by the manager that the front door had been shattered and the cash register had been opened with money missing, Hanover Police said. No other items were reported to be missing, and it was not clear exactly when the burglary occurred, police said. The burglary is being investigated by the department’s detective bureau.
