An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Pawling's James Earl Jones Receives Lifetime Achievement Tony Award James Earl Jones, a Pawling resident, was honored Sunday for his life's work on the Great White Way. The actor received a lifetime achievement award at the Tony Awards. Jones has appeared in 20 Broadway plays and won two Tonys for his performances in the "The Great White Hope" and "Fences." During his speech, Jones thanked his father and talked about his wife, Cecilia Hart, who died last October. Offstage, he is best known for voicing Darth Vader in the "Star Wars" movies.

'We're Trying To Fight For Diego': Rally For Ossining Teen Detained By ICE Hundreds are expected to gather outside the New York Citizenship and Immigrations Service Office in Manhattan at 2 p.m. Monday at a rally for Diego Macancela, the 19-year-old Ossining High School senior who was taken into custody by ICE agents Thursday  at his home on Prospect Avenue. Macancela is still being detained in New Jersey, as he awaits deportation back to Ecuador, Rachael Yong Yow, a spokeswoman for ICE said. Defamation Trial Between Judge Judy's Son, Putnam Sheriff Set To Start Adam Levy, former Putnam County District Attorney, and son of TV's Judge Judy, will have his day in court this week. Levy's defamation suit against four-term Sheriff Don Smith  next week in state Supreme Court in Carmel. Jury selection was conducted last week. Smith was investigating Levy's personal trainer Alexander Hossu for raping a 13-year-old girl. Hossu was later charged and Smith accused Levy of interfering in the investigation and said Hossu lived with Levy in a press release. Hossu was later acquitted and Levy recused him from the case. Bedford, Bedford Hills, Katonah Libraries Receive Grant From State Assemblyman David Buchwald and Senator George Latimer announced six libraries in Westchester will receive over $400,000 in construction grants. The libraries receiving construction funds include those in Bedford, Bedford Hills, Harrison, Katonah, North Castle and White Plains. The grants will help in improvements like new roofs and air conditioning systems, as well as creating and renovating space for the latest in library technologies, Buchwald and Latimer said.
