An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Harrison Planning Board Allows Wegmans To Skip Full Environmental Review HARRISON, N.Y. -- Wegmans is one step closer to being Harrison's next supermarket. The Harrison Planning Board unanimously voted Tuesday night to allow Wegmans, which will be located at 106-110 Corporate Park Drive, near the I-684/I-287 junction, to skip a full environmental review process. The project was first announced last December. The town board is expected to vote on a zoning change for the project on May 5. The town hopes the supermarket will open in fall 2019. Dutchess Chamber Honors '40 Under 40' Forty of Dutchess' best and brightest under 40 were honored Tuesday at the ChangePoint Theatre in Poughkeepsie by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce at its annual gala. Jacob Burns Film Center Pays Tribute To Nyack's Jonathan Demme, 73 PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Jonathan Demme, a Nyack resident who died Wednesday morning at 73, didn't just like to make movies- he loved to screen and talk about them as well. Jonathan Demme, Nyack Resident, Oscar-Winning Filmmaker Dies At 73 This story has been updated Filmmaker Jonathan Demme, a Nyack resident who won an Oscar for directing "The Silence of Lambs" in 1991, died Wednesday morning at the age of 73. The cause of death was esophageal cancer and complications from heart disease, according to IndieWire.
