Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Child Dies In Shock Trauma After Latest Fatal Shooting In Baltimore: Police Authorities say that a 12-year-old child who was shot overnight in Baltimore has died from his injuries. Officers from the Baltimore Police Department responded shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, to the 2400 block of Maisel Court, where there was a reported shooting involving a minor victim. Upon arrival, police found a 12-year-old boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Shock Trauma, where police say that “despite doctor’s efforts” he died a short time later. Body Found Amid Search For Missing Girl In Maryland A body was found in a Charles County quarry less than a day after the county sheriff's office launched a search for a missing 10-year-old girl with autism.
