Somers Man Drives Drunk, Possesses Marijuana, Yorktown Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Somers man was charged with driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of marijuana after Yorktown Police observed him speeding, not having a brake light and failing to maintain a lane early Saturday morning on Greenwood Street. Edward J. Furdi, a 24-year-old Somers resident, was charged with the misdemeanors and transported to police headquarters, police said. Rose Memorial Library Hoping To Purchase New Building STONY POINT, N.Y. -- The Rose Memorial Library in Stony Point is looking to move out and move up. The library is hoping to put a referendum on the ballot that would allow the library to spend $717,000 for a 12,000-square foot building on West Main Street.
