John Kasich Hosting Town Hall At Iona College NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The race for the Republican nomination for president will go through New Rochelle Saturday. Ohio Governor John Kasich has scheduled a town hall at Iona College at 4 p.m. The town hall will be held in the Hynes Center in the Mulcahy Room. Kasich is the first Republican candidate to schedule an event in the county. Frontrunner Donald Trump will be holding a rally on Long Island Wednesday. Sen. Dutchess Resident Gipson Running To Regain State Senate Seat DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Former State Senator Terry Gipson is throwing his hat back into the political ring. Gipson, a Rhinebeck resident, announced he intends to run against Senator Sue Serino in the 41st Senate District and win back the seat he lost to Serino in 2014. The 41st Senate District covers parts of Putnam and Dutchess counties. The former senator was elected to the seat in 2012, defeating Stephen Saland and Neil Di Carlo in a three-way race. Another Westchester Resident Appears On 'Wheel Of Fortune' PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Westchester County is becoming a farm system for "Wheel Of Fortune." Port Chester resident Missy Rosario appeared on the popular game show on March 14. Last week, Yorktown resident Robert Santoli made headlines when he won $76,076 on the show. Westchester Woman Celebrates 100th Birthday OSSINING, N.Y. -- Evelyn Solomons had a very special birthday Monday. Solomons, who lives at Atria on the Hudson turned 100 and was feted with a birthday party and a proclamation from Mayor Victoria Gearity. Gearity declared March 28 Evelyn Solomons Day in the Village of Ossining. The centenarian was born in Brooklyn but spent most of her life in Buffalo. Westchester Resident, 93, Publishes Memoirs OSSINING, N.Y. -- Audrey Rodgers, an Ossining resident, isn't letting her advanced age slow her down. The 93-year-old, who lives at the Atria on the Hudson in the village, has become a prolific author and recently published her new book, "A Tangle of Memoirs."
