Body Of Missing Kayaker Recovered Along Schuylkill River
The body of a 70-year-old kayaker who'd gone missing earlier in the week during a fishing trip along the Schuylkill River earlier this week has been recovered, authorities said. The unidentified man was recovered by a marine unit in the river in Upper Merion Township at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, May 2, Upper Merion Police Capt. Jeremy Johnson said. Victim Shot By Man He Met In Rideshare In Fairfax County: Police
A 32-year-old man has been arrested for shooting a person he'd met in a rideshare vehicle in Fairfax County, police said. Yusef Roy, of Lorton, and the passenger were picked up at difference places but were dropped off at the same final destination near the 9200 block of Ashland Woods on March 1, Fairfax County police said. Police were called to Ashland Woods after Roy fired at the victim multiple times but missed, they said. A 57-year-old Virginia man has been arrested for assaulting law enforcement at the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot, federal officials said. David A. Marshall, Jr., of, Alexandria, identified by a former co-worker, assaulted law enforcement officers and a member of the news media, shoving and yanking the journalist down a set of stairs, and assisted other rioters in seizing police equipment, court papers say. Student Brings BB Gun On Another School's Bus In Prince William: Police
A 15-year-old boy is accused of getting on another school's bus and flashing a gun in his waistband, police in Prince William County said. The boy got onto a bus on its way to Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, when he lifted up his shirt to reveal the gun tucked in his waistband, police said. Threat Called Into Prince William County High School: Police
A Prince William County high school was sheltering in place due to a threat called in on Thursday, May 2, police said. Freedom High School in Woodbridge was in "secure the building" status as of 12:40 p.m., police said. Police also said there was no active violence and that no weapon had been found. A 19-year-old driver going 100 mph was eventually found by police after running from them in Stafford, and blamed the ordeal on a "rough day." Timothy Garrett's Mercedes was spotted by a deputy along Warrentown Road and Plantation Drive going more than 100 mph around 9:10 p.m. on April 30, the sheriff's office said.
