An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Edgemont Native Named New Assistant Principal At Ardsley Middle School ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- Jennifer Goldenberg is the new assistant principal of Ardsley Middle School. The Ardsley Board of Education appointed Goldenberg, who will take over on July 1. Goldenberg replaces current Assistant Principal Stuart Horlacher, who will be taking over as principal at the end of the school year. Yorktown Man, 23, Pulled Over For Loud Muffler Charged With Felony DWI YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was charged with felony DWI after police pulled him over for having a loud muffler and speeding Sunday. Christopher Walker, 23, was charged with a felony because he had a previous conviction in the last 10 years. He was also charged with driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .18, a felony.  Walker was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Town Court on May 9.

Mahopac Man Uses Vehicle Without Interlock Device, Yorktown Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man was charged with multiple traffic violations, including operating his vehicle without an interlock device, after a car accident on Route 35 Friday. August Joseph Wines, 42, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without an interlock device, a misdemeanor, refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and driving on the shoulder, all violations. Following the accident, Wines was transferred to Westchester Medical Center, where he was arrested and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on May 11.

Learn About Coyotes At New Castle Forum CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. --  A forum on coyotes in Chappaqua is aiming to reduce conflicts and minimizing negative interactions among residents.The forum will be held on May 3 at 7 p.m. at New Castle Town Hall and is hosted by Dr. Daniel Bogan, a coyote specialist who teaches at Siena College. Bogan's goal is to debunk myths and cover topics like why coyotes live here, are they solitary or travel in packs and what the current coyote population is. A Q-n-A will follow along with a workshop for individuals seeking ways to limit or prevent problems with coyotes.

Greenburgh's Chuck Bronz Remembered As Devoted Husband, Father, Educator GREENBURGH, N.Y.--  For 50 years, Chuck Bronz was Lois Bronz's traveling companion. Bronz, a Greenburgh resident who taught math at Woodlands High School and later served on the Greenburgh School Board, died April 21 at the Grove at Valhalla at the age of 86. Chuck first met Lois when he was on vacation in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. The two were soon married and spent 50 years of marriage traveling all over the world and going on camping trips with their grandchildren. Aside from being a teacher and school board trustee, Chuck coached football at Woodlands and Tuckahoe, and serve…

Mamaroneck High Schooler A 'Future Filmmaker' MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- She may only be a sophomore in high school but Mamaroneck High Schooler Leah Roffman is a filmmaker to watch. Roffman won the top prize yesterday at the Westchester Future Filmmakers Festival held at the Picture House in Pelham. Roffman was among 73 students from 13 schools who showcased their work at the festival. Roffman's film, entitled “Unaware” is a conceptual work inspired by the lyrics of the Dave Matthews Band song “Ants Marching.”
