Man Flees After Asking For Money At Peekskill CVS PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill Police are investigating after a man walked into CVS and asked for money in exchange for his ID Tuesday morning. According to Lt. James White, the man said his car had broken down and he needed money to get it repaired. When a CVS employee went to get the manager, the man left the store, White said. No weapon was displayed. "It was a very strange incident," White said. "He was clearly up to no good."

Sinkhole Closes Marble Avenue In Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Village officials said they expect Marble Avenue to be closed for several days following a major water main break that created a sinkhole. Water pressure has been restored in most places but Village Administrator Patty Dwyer said the intersection of Marble and Castleton Street has been badly undermined. Marble Avenue is open up to Sunnyside Avenue, Dwyer said. The village is asking people to avoid the area as crews will be working throughout the day.

Westchester Man Killed In Route 9 Crash ID'd CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Richard Zeoli, a 58-year-old Montrose resident, was identified as the victim in a one-car accident in Croton-on-Hudson early Thursday morning, according to Detective Sgt. John Nikotopolis of the Croton Police Department. Zeoli's car went down a ravine and struck a tree at the Croton Point Avenue exit on Route 9. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Nikotopolis said. Police are still investigating the accident.  Zeoli was a resident of Coachlight Square in Montrose.

Man Charged With Firing Shot At Wife At Ossining Train Station OSSINING, N.Y. -- A 43-year-old Ossining resident was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder after allegedly shooting at his wife last week. A woman got into a dispute with Percy Ramos, whom she is separated from on Nov. 25, according to Lt. Jeff Giorgio of the Ossining Police Department. At 9:06 a.m., the emergency crew at the VA was called to the Montrose Day Care in building 29, according to Jason Tudor, public affairs officer for VA Hudson Valley.  Work was being done on a gas line, which had been shut off.
