JoyRide Cycling In Westport Hosts Olympic Competition WESTPORT, Conn. -- JoyRide Cycling and Fitness Studio is hosting their own Olympic Games competition for 10 days at all four studios in Westport, Darien, Wilton and Ridgefield. The competition began on Friday, Aug. 5 and extends to Monday, Aug. 15 and features a studio-wide mini-competition in honor of the games in Brazil. Police Accuse Bridgeport Hair Stylist Of Selling Heroin BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A local hairstylist is accused of selling heroin and marijuana, according to the Connecticut Post. Police said Steven Ortiz told them he was helping people out by selling the drugs, according to the Connecticut Post. The 27-year-old from Dover Street was charged with possession of narcotics intent to sell, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell near a school and possession of ammunition, according to the Connecticut Post. Fairfield PAL Hosts Annual Sand Sculpture Contest FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Police Athletic League is sponsoring its annual Sand Sculpture Contest. The PAL event is open to amateurs who want to try their hand at creating artwork at the beach. Black Bear Spotted In Brookfield Neighborhood BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- People who live near the Brookfield Golf Course were surprised to spot a black bear in their neighborhood in Brookfield on Tuesday night, police said. The sightings were reported in the area of Powder Horn Hill Road, Willow Run Road, and Sunset Hill Road — a residential area just east of Route 7 in the southern part of town, police said. Danbury’s Stellar Credit Ratings Reaffirmed DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton announced that Fitch, Moody’s and S&P rating agencies have reaffirmed the city of Danbury’s strong credit ratings. Fitch Ratings has affirmed an AAA credit rating for the city while S&P affirmed an AA+ with a stable outlook, and Moody’s affirmed an Aa1 rating.
