Westport Board Of Finance Member Moving, Leaving Post WESTPORT, Conn. -- Board of Finance member Clarissa Moore will no longer be working for the Westport taxpayer next year. Moore announced that she and her family will soon be moving to Sarasota, Fla. The Board of Finance will proceed with interviews and the election of a new member.

Trumbull Plans To Buy Two Properties For Additional Parking TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The Town of Trumbull will purchase two homes on Old Church Hill Road in the coming weeks as announced by First Selectman Tim Herbst following the Town Council’s agreement on a property acquisition plan, according to the Connecticut Post. The new properties will serve as additional needed parking the the Pequonnock River Trail and library. The homes at 85 and 93 Old Church Hill Rd. still need to be appraised and a price needs to be agreed upon and a pedestrian crosswalk across Old Church Hill Road could be soon to follow, according to the Connecticut Post. Monroe Police Step Up Enforcement On Distracted Driving MONROE, Conn. -- The Monroe Police Department is joining with the Connecticut Department of Transportation to remind drivers to "Subtract the Distraction." They will be increasing their cell phone and texting enforcement through Aug. 16. Distracted driving is dangerous for drivers and passengers as well as everyone else on the road, police said. Officers will be cracking down on cell phone enforcement in an effort to keep the road safe. The minimum fine for texting or talking is $150 for the first offense.

Two Tennis Pros Return To Stamford's Shippan Racquet Club DARIEN, Conn. -- Jeff Gocke, President of TennisCT, has announced the return of teaching professionals Clive Ullyett and Kevin van Rensburg. After several years, both pros are returning to Shippan Racquet Club, where they will be offering lessons for youth and adult players. Ullyett was a competitive junior in Zimbabwe in both tennis and squash. After moving to South Africa, he reached the top five in the country in doubles and top 20 in singles.
